Delta Park School is a co-ed, LSEN school for learners from Grade R – Grade 12, specialising in specific learning disabilities (SLD). Delta Park School is a school for learners with special educational needs (LSEN). The school accommodates learners from Grade R to 12. There are a variety of diagnoses seen at the school, ranging from children with specific learning disabilities (SLD) to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to children who suffer from soft neurological conditions. All of these disabilities require different teaching styles, different structures in the classroom, as well as specialized therapies. All of our learners present with some form of disability which affects their ability to learn. The school follows the Government’s CAPS Curriculum, but offers various intervention to learners whose diverse needs cannot be met in mainstream education. Although learners may have specific learning disabilities such as struggling with reading, written expression, mathematical reasoning, they still have the potential to cope with a mainstream academic curriculum in order to ultimately complete an NSC Certificate. Delta Park School is situated in Blairgowrie next to the beautiful Delta Park. As we are a remedial school, we have no set & “feeder area” and our learners come to school from as far as Kempton Park, Soweto, Alberton and Pretoria to receive specialized teaching, therapy and a smaller classroom environment to assist them in their learning capacity.
